Company of a Wicked & Learned Person should be avoided

दुर्जन: परिहरतव्यो ,

विद्ययाअलंकृतो अपि सन् ।

मणिना भूषित: सर्प: ,

किम् सो न भयंकर: ।।

( हितोपदेश )

We should desert  the company wicked person even if he is accredited with high learning and knowledge. Whether, the Cobra, in spite of adorned with Naag-Mani (a kind of Jewel) is not deadly ?

दुर्जन का साथ छोड़ देना चाहिये चाहे वह कितना विद्वान क्यों ना हो ;  क्योंकि मणि से अलंकृत सर्प क्या भयंकर नहीं होता ?
