दुर्जन एवं सज्जन मैत्री (Friendship of Wicked and Noble People)
आरम्भ गुर्वी क्षयिणी क्रमेण,
लघ्वी पुरा वृद्धिमतिश्च पश्चात् ।
दिनस्य पूर्वार्ध परार्ध भिन्ना,
छायेव मैत्री खल-सज्जनानाम् ।।
( नीतिशतकम्-भर्तिहरि )
The friendship of the wicked and noble persons are like length of the shadow in first and second half of the day.
Friendship of the wicked persons like shadow in the first half of the day which is longer and then becomes shorter.
While the friendship of the Noble persons is like a shadow in second half of the day which is shorter and then becomes longer later.
दुर्जनों और सज्जनों की मैत्री दिन के पूर्वार्ध एवं उत्तरार्ध भाग में छाया के बढ़ने व घटने की भाँति होती है ।
दुर्जनों की मैत्री दिन के पूर्वार्ध भाग में छाया की तरह पहले बड़ी और बाद में छोटी होती जाती है ।
जबकि सज्जनों की मैत्री दिन के उत्तरार्ध भाग में छाया की तरह पहले छोटी और बाद में बढ़ती जाती है ।
